Tupelo Honey Cafe

One of the many staples of downtown Asheville, Tupelo Honey Cafe is a restaurant that salutes the love of Southern culinary tradition, but paves its own path to the table nonetheless. Since 2000, the restaurant has been serving up food with local twists, incorporating the influence of the city—because after all, as the cookbook sleeve states, you’re expected to color outside the lines in Asheville—while still retaining that distinctly Southern flair that you can only really find in its place of origin. With the release of their cookbook, they made it possible to bring their unique dishes to your own kitchen table, blurring the lines between commercial food, local food, and home cooked food in a way that brings the community closer together.
