The map depicted below is a relationship between Oklahoma universities and their access to various editions of Notes on the State of Virginia. The universities listed were found to either have a hard copy on-site or access to an online edition of the book. There were less Oklahoma universities that ended up even having online access (and even fewer who had physical copies), but in all honesty, far more Oklahoma universities have shown interest in this book than what I was personally expecting. A full list of the schools and editions are explained below the map.

*It is important for me to note that the lines on the map do not necessarily mean the book travelled directly from one city to an Oklahoma university (London to Norman, Oklahoma, for example). If there is one thing we have learned in this class, is that books have a life of their own. They might travel quite often and quite far across the nation or to different countries before they land in a library for the rest of their lives. They might stay within one family or they may be passed through many different individuals’ hands. I only placed the lines on the map to differentiate (hence the different color lines) the different cities and to add more visualization. I also did not add different markers on the map indicating different publication years – only one marker per publication city.
