James Taylor Adams amassed quite the collection during his time working for the WPA; and also when he served as: a newspaper editor, writer, historian, Post Master, and a merchant of Wise County. In his portion of the library’s special collections at the University of Virginia’s College at Wise, there is a variety of works, such as: folk songs, folk tales, Wise County historical material, and local genealogy. Below is just a fraction of his collection that the library was kind enough to provide for use.
