We&#8217;ve tried to pick tools that\u00a0allow you to get interesting things done, but that\u00a0are reasonably\u00a0approachable and easy to use.<\/p>\n<h2>Software to install<\/h2>\n<p>You should install the following software on\u00a0your own computer so that you can use it in our exercises during the first half of the semester. (If you don&#8217;t have a computer of your own that you can use for this class, please let the professors know right away and we&#8217;ll try to help you make arrangements on your home campus.)<\/p>\n<ul style=\"padding-left: 10%\">\n<li style=\"padding-left: 30px\"><a href=\"http:\/\/slob.coplacdigital.org\/course\/tools\/chrome-web-browser-and-extensions\/\">Google Chrome web browser (and extensions)<\/a><\/li>\n<li style=\"padding-left: 30px\"><a href=\"http:\/\/slob.coplacdigital.org\/course\/tools\/openrefine\/\">OpenRefine<\/a><\/li>\n<li style=\"padding-left: 30px\"><a href=\"http:\/\/slob.coplacdigital.org\/course\/tools\/zotero\/\">Zotero<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Services<\/h2>\n<p>The following\u00a0are web-based services that we&#8217;ll make use of this semester.
