The Social Life of Books was taught in the spring semester of 2017 by Professors Benjamin Bankhurst of Shepherd University (Shepherdstown, WV) and Benjamin Pauley of Eastern Connecticut State University (Willimantic, CT). The course was part of the Mellon Foundation-funded COPLACDigital program, led by Professors Jeff McClurken of the University of Mary Washington and Ellen Holmes Pearson of the University of North Carolina Asheville.
The course brought together twelve students from seven campuses each week via videoconference:
